Flexible polymers for extrusion coating

In extrusion coating, a plasticised polymer is applied to a carrier made of a polymer, aluminium, paper, cardboard or fabric. The aim is to integrate functionalities such as barrier properties into a material composite in order to increase the shelf life of a product, to protect a product from environmental influences (e.g. coating of aluminium / steel). With Lucofin®, LUCOBIT offers outstanding flexible polymers for extrusion coating on a variety of substrates.

Whether for ecological packaging solutions such as coated cardboard / paper, for textile coating, as extrusion coating of aluminium / steel and many plastics such as PET, LDPE, PA... – Lucofin® is the ideal choice for demanding applications. Extrusion with Lucofin®: Your advantages

Our Lucofin® polymers offer outstanding performance in extrusion / extrusion coating. Our products enable processing temperatures of up to almost 300 °C without splitting off by-products. The excellent adhesion to different substrates ensures a reliable bond and provides long-lasting results. The strength of the bond can be controlled by the temperature applied, which means that both detachable and non-detachable bonds can be achieved. This means that a reopenable bond can be achieved for sealing purposes (PET food tray, sealed with a multi-layer film, is reopened to remove the food).

With Lucofin® you can rely on an innovative polymer solution for extrusion coatings that is versatile and delivers first-class results on many selected substrates.

Versatile applications of Lucofin® for extrusion coatings / laminations

Our Lucofin® polymers for extrusion coating, lamination and laminating are suitable for a wide range of applications. Here you can see the wide range of applications. Among others, the following substrates can be finished with the processes:

  • Aluminium foils: Coating of aluminium foils as a barrier layer for e.g. increased impermeability against moisture / oxygen and thus as corrosion protection for closed systems (e.g. underfloor heating)
  • Textiles: Flexible polymers as textile coating for the production of fabrics for specialised applications such as water-repellent textiles
  • Plastic films: Extrusion coating of plastic films to achieve additional functions such as adhesive properties on special substrates or to apply a barrier layer to improve product properties
  • Sheets: Production of coated sheets for specific applications in e.g. the construction industry
