Luxbit®: The high-performance building material – the hard bitumen for durable mastic asphalt screeds

Mastic asphalt screeds have been tried and tested building materials in building and industrial construction for decades. They are easy and quick to process. The choice of binder is crucial for the property profile of the finished mastic asphalt. This is where Luxbit® comes into play with its excellent product properties.

Luxbit® is a hard bitumen with greatly improved properties compared to high vacuum bitumen (HVB). At ambient temperature, Luxbit® is hard and brittle. At the processing temperature of approx. 240°C, however, it shows an adjusted viscosity and can be processed easily, quickly and cost-effectively.

Luxbit® sets new standards for mastic asphalt screeds

The special manufacturing process for Luxbit® was developed in the 1950s. The many years of experience with Luxbit® benefit from consistently high quality. Mastic asphalt screeds based on Luxbit® are ideal for common surface treatment methods and for all types of floor coverings, among others. In particular, the strength and surface quality of the mastic asphalt screeds produced with Luxbit® meet the highest demands.

When processing Luxbit®, frost-free conditions should preferably be above 5 °C. Luxbit® is environmentally friendly in production and processing and is harmless to the environment, water, soil and plants. Luxbit® is particularly suitable for the production of mastic asphalt screeds in accordance with DIN 18560, parts 1 - 7, e.g.: Mastic asphalt varies depending on the application in building construction from 90 to 93% mineral mixture (filler, sand, gravel or chippings) and other additives and up to 7% to 10% from binder.
