Lucofin® in packaging – durable, functional and environmentally friendly

Our versatile Lucofin® materials are speciality polyolefins that are becoming increasingly important in the packaging industry. They contribute to the hygienic packaging of fresh products and enable them to be stored safely and permanently fresh at both freezer and freezer temperatures. The excellent compatibility with a wide range of materials such as aluminium, other polymers and recyclates enables creative designs for consumer-friendly packaging. With its high polarity, Lucofin® demonstrates one of its particular strengths in lidding films.

Lightweight and durability

A major advantage of Lucofin® in packaging is the so-called "downgauging". As a modifier of other polymers, Lucofin® enables the wall thicknesses of films to be reduced in a targeted manner and ensures that the mechanical properties are largely retained with optimum manufacturability. This helps to reduce transport costs and makes packaging easier to handle for manufacturers and consumers alike. Equipped with appropriate additives, flexible packaging made from Lucofin® is extremely durable and protects products from external influences such as UV, moisture, dirt and impact.

Due to their processability and weldability at relatively low temperatures, Lucofin® materials offer packaging designers exceptional versatility in terms of shape and design.
