A green roof is not only an eye-catcher but also offers a myriad of advantages to its owner and our environment. Roof greening accounts for noise reduction and protects against heat or cold. Green roofs can be used in many ways e.g. as roof cafés or for recreational purposes. Moreover, they play a huge part in environmental protection as they offer a natural habitat for plants and animals, serve as a depot for rainwater and take in dust and pollutants. Now, the German Roof Gardener Association (DDV) has compiled all necessary information about the green roof for architects, roofers and clients. The DDV’s practical guide "1x1 der Dachbegrünung" (German) has information e.g. about the technical basics as well as the possibilities of municipal appropriations. Furthermore it gives illustrated advice for professional installations. With this practical guide, the German Roof Gardener Association (DDV) wants to bring new ideas about roof greening especially to private builders, planners, architects and businesses.
For a nominal charge of 5 Euro the practical guide "1x1 der Dachbegrünung" can be ordered on the following website: www.dachgaertnerverband.de
