Qualified and motivated employees are one of the most important values for LUCOBIT. The company is setting now the course for the future with no less than three new members of staff. inplastics would like to introduce them. As of June 1, Dick Wynia has taken over as the new Sales Director supervising the European and international distribution network of the LUCOBIT AG. The 48 year old, who holds a degree in engineering, is now in charge of all European and international sales activities, from the coordination of the distribution network to marketing and customer advisory services.
With the appointment of Wynia as the new Sales Director, LUCOBIT AG opens a sales office in the Dutch town of Doesburg (near Arnheim), which, besides LUCOBIT´s focus on the European strategy, will from now on also serve LUCOBIT´s customers in the Netherlands. Says Wynia: “Extending and strengthening the European distribution network – especially in the direction of Eastern Europe – is one of the most important tasks of this company. With the opening of our offices in Arnheim we send a strong signal towards Europe while at the same time securing a close cooperation with our customers in the Netherlands.” Wynia, who in his previous career acquired a wide range of know-how in the fields of Sales and Marketing is an approved expert in the plastic markets of the Netherlands and Europe. The family man started his career at BASF in the Netherlands, where, among other things, he worked in the fields of Customer Service and Sales. He then moved on to a position as Department Manager at Hoechst and as Account Manager and Business Leader at BASF-Elenac-Basell. At Clariant Benelux he was in charge of all operations concerning plastics in the Benelux Countries. Most recently, Wynia held the position of Managing Director at Dick Peters BV, a supplier of special chemicals and part of the Clariant-Group.
From now on the Department of Research and Developement leads Dr. Sandro Kohn. As a chemist, Dr. Kohn was able to gather a wide range of knowledge about polymer materials from his previous academic and industrial engagements. He emphasizes the significance of research and development at LUCOBIT: “Application oriented research and product development is a crucial factor of our company. As a service provider for the plastics processing industry it is not only our duty to further develop and explore existing materials but also to adapt and optimize our product’s formulas with regards to our customer’s needs. With the enhancement and the extension of the laboratories at the location Wesseling we now have an extraordinary new infrastructure to do so. Moreover, our technical center enables us to test the final products for our customers. I look forward to taking part in shaping the future of materials here at LUCOBIT.”
After finishing his studies, Kohn received his doctor’s degree from the University in Bonn in 1999 on the subject of polymers and ceramics. He then moved to the industrial sector working as a team leader in the Department of Development and Quality Management of mineral foams at the Trocellen GmbH in Troisdorf. As of 2003 he was in charge of the team for development and pre-development of polymer materials for domestic cooling devices at the Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. Sezgin Köse, as the new Asphalt Additives Manager of the LUCOBIT AG, is now in charge of the material’s portfolio for the field of road construction (Lucobit® 1210A, Luxbit®). Köse, who holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Ruhr University in Bochum, will be in charge of product distribution as well as the technical customer support regarding the polymer modification of asphalts in road construction and the applicability of Luxbit® in pavements from mastic asphalt. Moreover, he will be responsible for the product development in the field of road construction and represent the LUCOBIT AG in technical discussions e.g. expert committees and trade associations. Previously he worked for the industry and in various university research projects. Köse describes the challenges of modern road construction and the way LUCOBIT works as follows: ”From an expert’s point of view, the rise in traffic leads to the existing concepts of road construction being revaluated and expanded. Therefore, in practice, it is our responsibility to optimize current concepts and develop new approaches. Regarding the modification of asphalt, we accompany the implementation from the first stages of planning until the final realization.”
