[ LUCOBIT AG 2008 ] Rely on strengths - use your chances

LUCOBIT AG - just as our branch as a whole - is looking back on a successful year 2007: The German Association of the Building Trade (Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauwirtschaft) gives a positive review and refers to an increase in building investments to 8,3 per cent. Driving force of this development has once again been the industrial building trade. The Industrial Association of plastic roofand sealing sheeting (Industrieverband Kunststoff-Dach und Dichtungsbahnen) shows good numbers as well, presenting an increase in sales of 12 per cent. In total, the trade sold 25 million square meters of plastic roof membranes.

LUCOBIT is profiting from this dynamic development as well. The year 2007 will be remembered as a very successful year. Business operations that were initiated in 2007 are to be successfully expanded in 2008. The focus will be mainly on the increase in international business relations and our level of expertise in the field of fire protection as well as the consistent expansion of our efforts in research and development.

Focus on Central and Eastern Europe
In detail, LUCOBIT is planning to expand their sales and distribution activities and develop new business relations and partnerships. Here LUCOBIT lays a special focus on the regions in Central- and Eastern Europe as well as the Near and Middle East and parts of Asia. Many new EU Countries as well as many former CIS states are in the middle of a building boom and have a high demand for developing their public infrastructure e.g. for Romania and Bulgaria, experts expect an increase in the construction trade of between 20 and 30 per cent. New markets make way for the expansion and reconstruction of old road networks as well as for the construction and reconstruction of buildings. Perfect conditions for the sale of building materials such as those of the LUCOBIT portfolio.

In the area of quality management there are going to be further recertification audits to verify that all production steps from the development to the manufacturing and the final inspection meet the high requirements. The goal is to once again obtain the certification for the quality and environmental management guidelines by the globally acknowledged "Institute for International Organization" (ISO). QM-Verification for sealing-products in 2008 In 2007, LUCOBIT had already tested their ECB and TPO/FPO-based materials according to every certified test method for fire protection (DIN EN 1187 norm). The test procedures were conducted in renowned Institutes in France (CSTB), Great Britain (BRE), Sweden (SP Fire) and the certified German Institute of Standardization (DIN-Test). Results show that the tested ECB and TPO/FPO based plastic sealing membranes meet the requirements of all testing methods according to the European DIN EN 1187 norm as well as the requirements of the European Association of Durable Roof (Europäische Vereinigung dauerhaft dichtes Dach) and the Declaration of ecological features according to the Swiss SIA norm.

These are all good arguments for the high quality of LUCOBIT sealing materials - arguments that offer new possibilities for the marketing of ECB and TPO/ FPO-based sealing products.
