LUCOBIT AG - Think globally, act locally
Exactly 50 years ago, Germany, France, Italy and the Benelux countries established the European Economic Community ? the predecessor to what is today the EU. Almost simultaneously to the official ceremony in Berlin, LUCOBIT AG held its first European conference in Wesseling for all sales employees and agents.


The European Union today consists of 27 member countries. Anyone who wants to remain competitive on the European market must adapt to the changed framework conditions early enough and implement the necessary measures accordingly.

This approach formed the backdrop for the first European sales conference held by LUCOBIT AG at the end of March in Wesseling. "LUCOBIT AG has a global sales network, but our core business is focussed clearly on the European market," explains CEO Robert Riegler. "The basis for this is our network of employees, agents and independent trade representatives, with whom we cooperate in close partnerships. They are familiar with our products and believe in our company philosophy. We want to use the sales conference to strengthen the bundling of this power and agree on how to tackle the European market together." For this reason, the exchange of experience and information was the focal area of the talks and discussion rounds taking place in Wesseling. What is currently happening where, which changes are taking place in the different markets and market segments, which trends are evident and which perspectives do they bring" These are just some of the questions which came up. "Despite all efforts towards harmonisation in the EU, the national markets nevertheless have their own unique situations which have to be taken into account. We have to think globally and act locally. We can only do this through direct contact and through the exchange of information with experienced industry players who are active in those markets," says Riegler, explaining the concept for the conference. "Additionally, we can learn from good ideas and something which works well in one country might also be successful in another. In particular our employees" intensive dialogue with sales partners results in valuable suggestions and advice for us to put into practice. This lends the networking aspect an additional quality from which all participants can benefit in many different ways. We will take another look at the progress made at the beginning of 2008, as we plan to hold a conference like this at least once a year from now on."
